Parents AssociationWe could not keep the school in operation without our parents’ involvement. When you enroll your child in Little Star’s programs, you are required to complete two hours of service per family per month or 25 hours per year, thereby giving all parents responsibility for helping to maintain and improve our school. Your participation not only helps the school but gives you the opportunity to get to know each other, and broadens your understanding of the programs we offer. We maintain an updated task list in the office, often posted on our entryway bulletin board. The monthly newsletter will include information about upcoming opportunities. Please stop by the office for additional information or to take on a project. When parents (families) do not fulfill their participation hours, Little Star is forced to tap into funds from the school’s limited budget to hire outside help. For this reason, your bill will show a starting participation balance of $400. It will be your responsibility to turn in the participation slip attached (also available at school) to receive credit against the $400 participation fee. Each month your account will show any credits you have submitted to the office. If this fee is a hardship, please let us know as soon as possible so you can make arrangements. The other option is to pay $400 outright. If you fulfill your 25 hour annual requirement, we greatly appreciate your contribution, and additional hours are considered a generous gift. This system helps ensure that the parental involvement is equally distributed. Below is our current task list.
