Here's how to enable the "Save Password" checkbox in the Win 95/98 Connect dialog box:
Make sure you have your Win 95 (or 98) CD or disks.
Click on the "Start" button.
Click on "Settings".
Click on "Control Panel".
Open the "Network" control panel.
If "Client for Microsoft Networks" isn't in the list of installed components, click on "Add":
In the list of component types, click on "Client", then "Add":
Select "Microsoft" in the list of Manufacturers, then
select "Client for Microsoft Networks" in the list of Network Clients, then click on OK:
Back in the "Network" control panel, click on OK.
You may be asked to insert your Win 95 (or 98) CD and to restart your computer.
The next time you connect to the Internet, the "Save Password" box should be enabled.
Important note: When the system restarts, you may be prompted for a username and password
to login to Windows (not the Internet at this point!). Type in a username
(it can be anything) but do NOT put in a password (if you do, you'll have
to type it in every time your computer is started). When you hit OK,
you may be prompted to verify the password. Again, do NOT type one in.
Just hit OK.
